Staff Rules

General
Staff must always act friendly and polite towards other players.
Staff must never swear, or promote negativity.
Staff must never make decisions that will affect the shard's future.
Staff must always keep anything learnt through being staff to themselves.
Staff must never discuss staff matters on their player.
Staff must never allow personal opinions to guide their decisions and actions.

Other Staff
Staff must never override the decision of another staff member, unless either they are ranked higher or have the approval of the other member of staff first.
Staff must always obey higher ranked members of staff, unless it involves breaking any rules.
Staff must always report any issues with other staff to an Admin, and never argue or fight, especially in public.

Accounts
Staff must never allow another player to use their account.
Staff must never have their account password match their player account password.
Staff must never log onto both their player and staff accounts simultaneously.
Staff must never log onto another player's account for any reason.
Staff must never use any other player's account information for their own purposes, or distribute this information to non-staff.

Handling Players
Staff must never refuse to help a player requesting assistance, as long as they have the knowledge to solve the problem.
Staff must never help a player further than explaining the solution to their problem.
Staff must never log onto another player's account to solve a problem - They can only explain the solution.
Staff must never use their staff character to assist their own character in any way.
Staff must never delete a page without it being answered, unless either the player sending the page has logged out, or the page does not follow the paging rules.

Handling Items
Staff must never replace items without the permission of an Admin. The only exception to this is if a staff member accidentally removes an item belonging to a player.
Staff must never give out any items to players, except for event prizes.
Staff must never be in possession of any items that aren't required to do their job.
Staff must never add/edit/delete any items that are viewable/accessible by the players without the permission of an admin.

Punishing Players
Staff must always punish players who break the rules, regardless of their opinion on the rule or player(s) involved.
Staff must never only watch certain players for rule-breaking. Staff must keep an eye on all players to ensure the rules are obeyed.
Staff must never punish a player for any crime which has been committed around or involving their player.
Staff must always give punishments as listed in the rules. Increased jail sentences must not be handed out without the permission of an Admin, unless the jailed player becomes abusive towards others whilst in jail.
Staff must never ban players without the permission of an Admin, unless either the player is actively disrupting the shard's progress with his or her presence, or (s)he is increasingly abusive towards others.

Events
It is not compulsory for staff to run regular events. The staff run events in their own free time.
Staff must never reward a player with an event prize other than Event Tickets, without the permission of an Admin.
Staff must never participate in their own events.
Staff must never give other player's an advantage in an event over others, unless the event requires it.
